Club Information

If you are interested in trying a training session as a guest, please contact the Membership Secretary via the Contact form on the website. We will then be in touch to help identify the most suitable training group for you.

Our club season runs from 1st November to 31st October. As a member, you will receive an England Athletics competition licence number, which may be required when entering races. This confirms that you belong to an affiliated club and often entitles you to a reduced entry fee.

Annual Membership

The First Claim membership fee is £55 per year, which includes a range of benefits:

  • Payment of your England Athletics licence fee, registering you as a member of an affiliated club
  • Access to two coached training sessions each week
  • Membership of our Members-Only Tiptree Road Runners private Facebook group
  • Subsidised club kit
  • Free entry into several events, including all NESS and Essex Cross Country Leagues, plus the Essex Way Relay

Membership is payable when you join the club and renewed annually in March.

Joining Another Club / Second Claims

You may become a second-claim member of another running club while remaining with Tiptree Road Runners. Specific rules about competing for different clubs are outlined in our Membership Policy.

If you wish to leave Tiptree Road Runners to join another club as a first-claim member, you must submit your resignation in writing. Please note that, depending on circumstances, England Athletics may apply a waiting period before you are eligible to compete for your new club.

Second Claim membership fee is £22 per annum and includes the same benefits as First Claim members, with the exception of a free TRR club vest and England Athletics licence fee which is not included. Your EA licence fee is payable by your First Claim club or yourself.

All second-claim members of Tiptree Road Runners must hold a valid England Athletics licence.

Club Kit

Our club kit is a red top with the club logo and black shorts and you should wear this when competing in a race. We also have a selection of T-shirts and running jackets in club colours. See our Club Kit and Merchandise page for details and prices.

Committee

Our Committee oversees the business side of the club. Committee members are elected annually at our AGM in November. Please visit our Contacts Page if you need to get in touch with a committee member.

Reporting Race Results

Please submit your race results by Monday at 5pm. This allows the Club Results Coordinator to process your result for internal reporting and prepare the update for Tuesday’s Parish Notices. Only submitted results will be included in the internal league tables and counted towards club records, club standards, or PBs achieved – click here to learn more.

Annual Presentation Evening

This normally takes place on the second Friday in November. The evening begins with dinner, followed by the presentation of awards and a raffle. It’s a rare opportunity for Club members to socialise with one another with glad rags on, and is always well-attended and very enjoyable.

Insurance

The club has third party liability insurance, arranged through UK Athletics.

Club Policies

Our club policies have now moved to a dedicated Policies page, where you can find the latest versions in one place.
