Welcome to Tiptree Road Runners!

Our membership year runs from 1st November to 31st October. As a club member you will receive an England Athletics competition licence number, which you may need when completing race entry forms. This proves that you belong to an affiliated club and often qualifies you for a lower entry fee.

Annual membership

Membership fee is £50 per annum, which covers a number of benefits, including:

  • Payment of £15 to England Athletics to register you as a member of this affiliated club
  • Two coached training sessions each week
  • A quarterly newsletter
  • A weekly results service
  • Discount for buying club running clothing
  • Free entry into a number of races, including all 53-12 Cross Country League races, the Ekiden Relay, the Essex Way Relay and the Saltmarsh 75 Relay

Our club kit is a red top with the club logo and black shorts and you should wear this when competing in a race. We also have a selection of T-shirts and soon will have running jackets in club colours. See our Club Kit page for details and prices.


Our Management Committee oversees ‘the business end’ of the Club and committee members are elected annually at our AGM in November.

Reporting your results

Please email Paul Dellar  ‘Results/Records’   your race result by Sunday evening so that he can record and report your result internally and produce a report for the local papers. Paul keeps a spreadsheet of everyone’s times for all races he is notified about, sends round a weekly update to all members, and maintains the results, PBs (personal bests), internal league table and club records.

Annual Presentation Evening

This normally takes place on the second Friday in November. The evening begins with dinner, followed by the presentation of awards and a raffle. It’s a rare opportunity for Club members to socialise with one another with glad rags on, and is always well-attended and very enjoyable. The club has third party liability insurance, arranged through UK Athletics.

Joining another club

You can be a ‘second-claim member’ of other running clubs, but you may not compete for a second-claim club in any event where Tiptree Road Runners is participating. If you wish to leave Tiptree Road Runners to join another club as a first-claim member, you must resign in writing. Depending on circumstances, you may not be eligible to compete for your new club for a certain period – the rules are set by UK Athletics.
