Runner of the Month – June 2026

Female Winner

This month’s nomination goes to a runner whose recent form has been nothing short of outstanding.

Cheered on by her club mates, she achieved an emotional PB at the Maldon 5k series — earning her very first Silver club standard. She didn’t stop there. At the Southend Half Marathon, she clocked another PB and a Bronze club standard, proving her versatility over distance.

Then came perhaps her grittiest performance: the Springfield Striders Friday Night 5, run in brutal mid-30-degree heat. She powered through in 41:03 — another PB, and a Bronze standard, and with it, her Bronze award for five bronze standards this running year.

Add to that, during June she ran her first narrated trail runs, completed her 25th parkrun and made a smooth transition as a full and fun member of G3, it’s clear this has been a fantastic month of running.

3 PBs, one silver, two bronzes in June, five bronze standards for the year and new challenges embraced at every turn — she thoroughly deserves our Runner of the Month nomination…

Caroline Corney

Male Winner

This month’s nomination goes to a runner who has taken his running to a new level of maturity and dedication.

Behind the scenes, he’s been transforming his approach — digging into the detail of his stats and researching the benefits of slower training. This runner is thinking as hard about his running as he’s actually running.

And it’s paying off. At Maldon parkrun, he stormed to an impressive 22:32 PB, really pushing himself to convert his Bronze club standard into a Silver.

Then came the Springfield Striders Friday Night 5. Run in brutal mid-30-degree heat he clocked a PB of 41:07 and secured a Bronze club standard — a gritty performance in the toughest of circumstances.

Two PBs and two standards this month — one Silver, one Bronze — earned through smart training, genuine determination, and a willingness to push himself to the limit every time he laces up.

Our Runner of the Month nominee…
