Quick Questions

What got you into running?

The desire for quick, convenient, outdoor time exercising when my children were very young.

What are you most proud of in your running?

In my own running, that I’ve improved as I’ve got older and that it is possible to do that with running.

When did you join Tiptree Road Runners?

Around 2016.

What is your favourite training session?

One where I doubt before I start that I can do it and then find I can 🙂 A recent one was the Gear Changer session with Morven.

Favourite race you’ve run?

The Grizzly – it’s just mad and fun and a wonderful weekend of club togetherness

Most memorable run or performance?

Without fail, I always feel better after a post-run shower than I did before I laced up the shoes. That feeling is memorable, consistent and not dependent on how fast or far I’ve run. Other than that, trail running – seeing beautiful new countryside and wildlife

Favourite race distance?

10k – The Goldilocks zone for me – not too long and not too short 🙂

Do you prefer racing or social running?

Social running.

Who inspires you at the club?

Everyone! We all have a lot going on in our ‘non-running’ lives and everyone has significant life events at one time or another. There’s absolutely no compulsion to share any detail and always someone to listen whilst running next to you if you do. The people who manage to show up and run with all of the stuff going on in the rest of their lives is inspiring to me.

Favourite local place to run?

The loop from Great Totham, to Braxted Bakery, Benton Hall, Wickham Bishops Orchards back to Totham. Beautiful, varied terrain and full of wildlife

One word that describes TRR?

Connection.
