Runner of the Month – June 2026
Female Winner
Over the past month, this lady has delivered an exceptional series of performances, achieving personal bests in both the Maldon 5K and Arthur Whiston 5-mile races. These impressive results earned her a Club Silver Standard in both distances, reflecting the significant progress she has made through consistent hard work and determination.
Her success didn’t stop there. She also earned a Bronze County Medal in the Arthur Whiston 5-mile race, a fantastic achievement that demonstrates her ability to perform at a higher level in competitive events.
Away from racing, she has also given back to the club by preparing and leading a narrated club trail, creating an enjoyable and engaging experience for fellow members. This willingness to contribute beyond her own running highlights her commitment to supporting the club community.
Her combination of personal improvement, competitive success and positive contribution to the club makes her a thoroughly deserving recipient of Runner of the Month. We are delighted to award this to…Claire White

Male Winners
First Nomination: Throughout this past month, this man has demonstrated exceptional dedication by taking part in no less than 13 races (3 over marathon distance +) and has been consistently challenging himself whilst representing our club with enthusiasm and positivity. His hard work and disciplined training culminated in an incredible achievement right at the end of the month with a new sub 5 hour marathon and is positioned nicely towards the top of the club league table where we will watch him battle his friend and the supremely impressive Julia for the top spot. The rest of us need not bother!. This performance is a testament to the countless hours of preparation, perseverance, and resilience he has invested.
Beyond the impressive results, this man embodies the spirit of our running club. He inspires fellow members through his commitment, encouragement of others at races and training sessions, and shows that consistent effort leads to meaningful progress.
His marathon personal best is not just a reflection of one great race, but of months of dedication and determination. Combined with his active participation in multiple events and positive contribution to the club, he is a truly deserving recipient of this month’s award.
In recognition of his outstanding commitment, determination, and achievements over the past month we are delighted to award – robo legs himself…Martin Holtham-Payne
Second Nomination: This runner has enjoyed an exceptional month, recording the highest monthly club league score seen for a very long time with an incredible 195 points.
A self-confessed trail enthusiast, he covered over 140 miles in July, taking on a wide variety of events including narrated trails, orienteering, and trail races. Despite all those miles, he still found the speed to achieve two personal bests: 00:34:22 at the Great Bentley 5 Mile road race and 00:20:34 at the final Maldon 5k of the series.
His enthusiasm for running is infectious. Always looking for the next adventure, he embraces every challenge with a smile and continues to inspire those around him.
A remarkable month and a thoroughly deserved nomination…Stuart Collett
