I was aiming to beat my PB but missed it by 5 seconds. Slightly underestimated some of the undulating features of this course and the narrow cliff top path which was difficult to overtake on, but had a a great run and was very happy with my time. Always nice to do a seaside Parkrun especially when the sun is out.”

Sue Long, “Elevation 414ft gain and time off 01:10:31

I did this back in 2019, I remembered it was quite hilly but not how hard it was. It was mainly off road some of the terrain was really rough underfoot and quite narrow in places. Really nice friendly event. Shame I booked it first before I realised the May Day 10 was on the same day.”

Witham 10.

ROM April.

Female: – This lady is a solid as a rock. Despite niggles, she always puts in great performances, whilst quietly supporting others. She ran two marathons this month – at Brighton she helped pace Kelly to her 1st marathon & Sam Chung with some unfinished business.

At London Marathon not only did she wait at the 1mile marker for 4.5 minutes searching for a star, she then sorted his gels and passed him water and cleared the way to support Pete to a Guinness World Record whilst smashing out 3hrs 35 herself!!

It’s our distance queen and well deserved ROM…! Vicky Knight

Male: – This man has shown real commitment and dedication to his running and the club. Recently completing his Leader in Running Fitness, he regularly takes Thursday sessions, track. He gets stuck in and is hugely supportive of everyone.

An example of this was he paced Chris Gardiner to a PB and Gold Standard at Bromley 10km during the month!

He’s been successful at chasing club records in previous months, but in April he went for the big one raising money for Farleigh Hospice, dressed as a giant star which weighed 5kgs, and by doing so he broke a Guinness World Record in an incredible 3hrs 30. So not only did he run a ridiculous time he is now also a WORLD RECORD HOLDER, He’s our very own TRR star! Pete Banks
