Rom February,
Lady
This lady is the quiet one of G3, she trains hard each week, often on a Tuesday and a Thursday with an excellent work ethic amongst the group. She is supportive and assists the RL’s well with calling out hazards and lots of encouragement. She always has something positive to say.
Her Park runs, across the month at various locations (including Canada!) have been more than solid. She is often top 4 at Maldon based on age/gender grading. Consistently running sub 25 minutes, she is proving herself to be a strong contender in her age group. Her age grading stats are usually 70% plus which is very impressive!
February has also seen participation in Cani-X (with her Welly) and again these have resulted in strong and impressive runs from her in tricky conditions.
For her dedication and impressive performances week in, week out at Park runs, commitment to training and quiet encouragement at training, we are delighted that our runner of the month is.
Jackie Robinson.
Men
Not only is this runner extremely knowledgeable, but he also puts that depth of knowledge into practice – and it’s paying off in his training and race performances. His dedication to improvement is clear, and his results speak for themselves.
At the Great Bentley Half Marathon, he smashed through the 1hr 30min barrier, earning an impressive Gold standard. He followed that up with another outstanding performance at the Mercury 10, once again running under 1hr 30min on challenging terrain. On top of that, he’s a regular on the cross-country scene, proving his talent across all terrains!
Beyond his own running, this runner is an excellent Run Leader. He brings a calm and relaxed approach to every session, making runners of all abilities feel welcome and supported. His guidance and knowledge are invaluable, and his good sense of humour ensures that every session is enjoyable – no matter the pace or the weather.
Not only that, but he dedicates his time to supporting multiple other clubs, as well as coaching and encouraging his kids to become stronger runners too!
He’s a real asset to Tiptree Road Runners, and our well-deserving Runner of the Month for February is…
Phil Nicholls!
