Cambridge Half Marathon

Chris Gardiner, Finally!!!! For over a year I’ve had this 5th Gold standard in my sights! If it was going to happen, then this was going to be the day. Perfect conditions, great course and an injury free lead up. Thank you to the club for supporting me being able to gain my coaching qualification as I definitely did a few things differently in the build up to this race thanks to the course content. PB and Gold std in 01:31:25

Carl Harper, Fab event although the mud at the event village was like Glastonbury. Smashed my previous PB by 5 mins. Lovely to see my fellow TRR smashing it too. Well done team PB in 01:49:11

Anna Taylor, Absolutely loved this race. Thank you to for all the TRR support and words of encouragement in the build up to the race. I managed to knock 16 minutes off my PB from 10 years ago. PB and silver std 01:55:02

Dave Cassin, Great run with a really good strong pace. Lost some time for a WC stop but managed to get most of it back. Unfortunately not enough get the bronze std. Smashed my previous PB by 16 minutes, and came in under the 2hr mark. Great support from fellow TRRs as usual, and a great atmosphere. Great buzz from the cheering crowds, of which there was many. Well done team TRR! PB in 01:59:52

Clare Howard, “Absolutely amazing running with Alex Hadley 😍 Super beautiful course, running through colleges and felt strong” 02:28:29

Alex Hadley, “Beautiful but cold day and the meeting point was a quagmire; how I imagine Glastonbury must be like, with dodgy loos too!

Anyway, Clare and I were using this race as a training run, which was relaxed and chatty.

So lovely to see Anna & Chris cheering us on at the end. Always love the bling and hessian bag you get as well.”

Chelmsford Half Marathon

Katy Denny, I was in a mission to beat last year’s PB. Great conditions, felt good, worked hard… knocked 16 mins 39 seconds off previous PB! Second in age group (by 21 seconds!) and 10th lady. Thank you G3!!! And everyone else too – the support and encouragement of TRR is the magic ingredient 🥰🥰🥰 PB and gold std 01:33:40

Annabel Marriott, Great pep talk from Katy Denny saw me take 12 mins off my pb. Imagine what I could have done if I’d remembered to train for it? PB in 02:37:04

ROM Feb

This young lady has found a new lease of life lately, consistently having good results across both xc leagues this season.

Helping the ladies get promoted to Division 1 in the Essex league. And finishing the season off 3rd in her age group.

She can be found running with her daughter most morning either at Park or Junior park run and some times both. She has recently be able to come back to club, which is lovely to see.

Vicky.

This chap has put in some fantastic efforts in his running in recent months

February has seen him smash a 5k Parkrun pb of 22.48 at Valentine Parkrun

and then went on to smash another 5k Pb of 21.43 at Chase the Moon also achieving his Silver standard.

Not satisfied with these he set himself target for a 10k pb and standard….not on a nice easy fast flat course but at the London Winter Run which is NOT the race for a PB!!!

There were runners of all abilities set off at random times and was more of a weaving contest, rather than a running race. Even when things were getting tough he still stuck with his pacer to absolutely smash a PB in 46.07, knocking 3mins off and achieving another Silver standard too.

His progress continues on to this month with a new Half Marathon PB knocking 5mins off his previous time..

A regular volunteer at club events and did a fabulous job taking on roles for the clubs Maldon 5k and Tiptree 10 .

A great supportive and encouraging Run Leader to Group 2. Giving up his time he also helps out with the New Member sessions, an asset to the Run Leader team and a great example of giving back.

Is *Carl Harper* .
