ROM FOR OCTOBER

Men,

Few people race in the TRR club colours as much as this machine of a runner and even by his own high standards October was a stellar month. He kicked off by visiting the home of parkrun at Bushey, coming away with a PB and a club record. In the middle of the month, he ran his 3rd marathon of the year and beat his own club record by over 3 minutes, breaking the 2 hour 45 barrier. He now holds 8 of the 9 senior club records, along with having a gold standard at every distance. He is a regular at XC and started the NESS season this month by finishing 5th overall.

This runner is always highly supportive and generous with his advice to newer runners at park runs and races. Many of us have been on the receiving end of his encouragement when he cools down by running back along a race route. At the T10 this year he not only did his designated role dishing out the milkshakes but stepped in to help with car park marshalling when he realised more people were needed.

Runner of the Month for October is..  Aaron Graves

Ladies,

This lady has simply burst on the scene this last month. Having quietly, but determinedly, worked her way from G2 into G3, she has really put the work into training sessions and has been flying her way through some tough Tuesday nights at G3 training! This sees her on the cusp of G4 which she plans to trial in the next couple of weeks.

This commitment to her training and her willingness to be pushed to the top of her capabilities has resulted in some superb performances this month. Back in mid-September she dipped just under 23 minutes to claim a Parkrun PB. This was quickly improved on at the beginning of October with another sub 23 minute Parkrun at Oak Hill where she also claimed a 3rd placed female. This was bettered again on 26th October with a 1st place at Harwich and another PB, this time edging very close to that sub 22 minute mark.

To top off the month, she hit the first NESS XC race on Sunday 27th with a new found confidence and belief in herself that was truly a pleasure to see. Earning herself a 14th placed female and romping in ahead of some of our most seasoned female XC runners left us all in awe.

G3 are delighted to nominate Kirstie Wiggins as our female Runner of the Month for October
