Stacy Hember, “Omg! It was very hot 🥵 Nice to run a race without many men and mostly women and with the support of some our other ladies from TRR. Not my fastest but I haven’t run a 10k for sometime and it was very hot!
Nice to run around the park at the Olympic park even though it was very hot. Have I mentioned it was hot that evening? I believe it was the hottest day so far!” 01:03:58
Julia Bawden, After running over 70 miles in the last 12 days this was never going to be fast, especially with the heat, but the cheers from the TRR ladies on each lap definitely helped. Came 2nd in my age group. 01:05:05
Maldon 5k series race 4, thanks to everyone who volunteered.

Have being feeling a bit meh about my running recently and it was lovely to have a relaxed run and so nearly spot on 32 minutes, but failed by 1 second! Great TRR support as always and it was great to hear feedback from another runner that she had got her best pb this year. 00:32:01

Out run at Layer Marney Towers.
Stacy Hember, “This race was to run as many laps you wish within 12 hours.
The day was very hot and hard under foot, with the grass which had just been cut, you couldn’t see for any holes!
It was lovely to other TRR’s supporting each other round the course and whilst we rested. The other runners were supportive too as we passed each other on the course. I managed 13 laps, which is about 32.5 miles, however my watch said nearly 35 miles! It would be race, I would do again, even though it was hard, the support from Hare and tortoise as well as other runners was really lovely.” 10:15:54
Julia Bawden, Very happy to have completed 15 laps, clocking up 37.5 official miles in 11 hours. Great support and achievements from the TRRs. 11:06:00

Vicky Sheldon, “Pete and I were 1st mix pairs and set new course record for mixed pairs over the 24 hour race
30 laps 5 mile laps, 150 miles, 75 miles each over 24 hours. We did a one lap on one lap off strategy. Rain sun and always a smile at the handover. Exhausting but great teamwork.”

Rom for June
Men.
This gent started the month taking a wrong turn during a race (with many others), and was disappointed not to get his first silver standard. Thinking all was lost, he was thrilled to learn that he’d won his first running trophy instead. Coming first in his age category.
Not to be put off his quest for his first silver standard, the next week he was super grateful for the TRR support that helped him to his first silver standard and 53 seconds off his PB in front of his home crowd at Maldon 5k.
Making it three weeks on the trot, at Lee Valley Velo Park 10 Mile, where it was a lot hillier than he was expecting, he knocked 9 minutes off his PB, finished 8th overall and claimed a Bronze standard to boot.
In training he is consistently focussed, supportive and giving his all – as evident in his June race results – our ROM is Simon Gallagher!
Ladies.
Well, what can I say…This lady continues to go from strength to strength. Having recently moved up in training groups she fits right back into where she belongs. She puts in 100% effort and pushes herself out of her comfort zone to challenge herself at every session which has clearly paid off in her recent results.
Her month started with a PB at Harwich 5k, 2 days later she run a 5 mile PB at Sudbury on a hilly course, she followed this with a 10k PB at High Easter and a further PB at Friday night 5.
A supportive club member, always giving back, marshalling and helping out wherever she and her husband Paul can. At Parkruns, M5K and Tiptree 10.
Nomination goes to the wonderful Mandy Graves
