Sue Long, 35:17 I was pacing 36 minutes. I came in a bit under time. I really enjoyed helping a lady get round. At one point I lost her I looked over my shoulder and saw she was struggling behind me so I doubled back to help encourage her to the end. She even managed to do a sprint finish. That made my day 🙂

Stow Maries 5k laps 6 hour running challenge
Sue Long, “This event was more about how many 5k laps you can do in 6 hours rather than the distance. I manged to complete 6 laps in 6:02.13, beating last years time of 5:11:40 and 5 laps.
It was certainly a challenge the terrain was terrible. The fields were so hard with huge cracks and the ploughed straw fields were slippery. There was also 3 lovely hills thrown in for good measure. But the main thing is I got the result I wanted 😀 So I’m one happy bunny.”
Craig Vernon, “Hilly elevations ,and tricky underfoot .Sue ran amazingly. Great to see Nic Vincent helping out 👏 Not sure what distance to put as some ran 30 plus 🤔” run for 4 hours 35 minutes 1 sec

Runner of the month July.
⭐️ Carl Harper:
Carl has attended every single one of the Maldon 5k series as a marshal. He stood in on the final run to take on the race director role too.
He also stepped up to do the meet and greet at the new member night.
On top of that he has supported 2 of his running buddies on different races since the last ROM nominations and achieved a 5k PB (and his first sub 23 min 5k) at the TRR TT.
He has attended every Tuesday training session in July too.
⭐️ Simone Hilliard:
Simone is currently sat 1st in the Essex Champs in her age category has had yet another fantastic month.
She has run a PB at Felsted 10km despite challenging conditions and won yet another bronze county medal.
She has also run a gold standard and PB 5km time at Marks Hall Run.
Her running has been on point all year so it’s nice to finally see her name come up for this award, as her performance in the Essex Champs proves her consistency across the year.
