Runner of the Month – April 2026
Male Winner
This much-loved gentleman has established himself as a formidable runner in Group 4. Not only is he hugely supportive and full of fun, he lifts everyone around him with his enthusiasm, encouragement… and, of course, his constant (and very welcome) talking.
His support for fellow runners is what really makes him stand out, particularly helping Simone and Sally by pacing them to achieve their goals.
Alongside supporting others, he has remained focused on his own running and recently achieved a dream result at the London Marathon after a 2 year wait, running a PB of 3:36:07.
Our male Runner of the Month is…Glen Head.
Female Winner
This month’s award goes to someone whose determination and positivity have really stood out.
After a lengthy period on the sidelines managing an ongoing knee issue, she has recently returned to running and to the club. Rather than focusing on limitations, she’s approached her return with honesty and a clear focus on what running continues to give her – fitness, mental wellbeing, and connection with others.
She’s already back taking part in G3 sessions and supporting others, showing the same commitment and team spirit that make her such a valued part of the group. Her willingness to adapt, listen to her body, and still contribute as a Run Leader reflects both resilience and dedication.
It’s clear how much she’s missed being part of the club – and just as clear that she’s been missed too.
Our female Runner of the Month is…Morven Hurding
