Runner of the Month – August 2026

Male Winner

A quiet, steady and reliably positive presence in the group, this man has taken a thoughtful and sensible approach to his running progression. He moves seamlessly between Groups 2 and 3, depending on the session and his racing goals, always running with purpose and without fuss.

That consistency is now paying off. His recent Clacton 10K in 52:52 secured his fourth bronze standard this year so far – a fantastic reflection of the progress he’s making through patience, commitment and smart training.

And he’s not keeping that progress to himself. This month, he stepped up as a Run Leader Support, giving back to both Groups 2 and 3 and helping others get the most from their sessions.

Quietly getting faster, steadily building confidence, and now supporting those around him — this man embodies the kind of runner and club member who makes a real difference.

Our male Runner of the Month for August is… Andrew Vickers

Female Winner

This runner has now been nominated for three months in a row, and when you look at what she has achieved over that time, it’s easy to see why.

It started with a club record at Sittingbourne parkrun, followed by another club record, PB and Gold Standard at the High Easter 10k. She then added another Gold Standard over 5 miles at the Arthur Whiston before producing her latest standout performance at the ATW Colchester 5k.

Her 21:06 was a new PB, another club record and another TRR Gold Standard! That makes three club records during this impressive run of form, showing just how much progress she has made.

Alongside her running, she continues to support the club as Treasurer, putting plenty of work in behind the scenes. Three months, three nominations and a remarkable run of results.

Our female Runner of the Month for August is… Simone Hilliard
