ROM for December 2024.
I’m not sure we’ve ever had a ROM nomination quite like this one…
In December this lady’s running has gone from strength to strength. A regular at Cross Country, she represented TRR at the Essex Vets event and completed the tough Ilford 10mile XC event too. Between times she’s entertained us on Strava with her pre-Xmas Reindeer run and completed the search for Santa trail.
However, before sharing her running pinnacle in December, it’s worthwhile noting what else this lady has been up to in the month. As well as two Cross Country events, a trail, hill and track training, she’s completed 6 weight training sessions, swam 8 miles in total over 7 swims, cycled a total of 198 miles and to cap it all, at Witham BD5 pulled a 98 second PB out of the bag in 38:09!
Our Bionic Woman in G3 is Emma Hodson!
This chap is a committed member of the club, a supportive, valuable member of his group and a passionate RLS, checking in on others and calling out hazards. Regularly helping out at club events and giving back when he can.
Having been bitten by the Parkrun Alphabet Challenge he has ventured to a total of 62 different, weird and wonderful places and last month sees him complete all 26 A-Z parkruns finishing with his E at East Grinstead… a fantastic achievement!!
Not only passionate about parkruns but he can be seen regularly representing the club at many trail runs over the last year. In December not only running at 5 parkruns, he took part in 4 very muddy trail runs including Elves 11 and a Half Marathon distance trail. More often than not adding a few extra miles on after getting lost, he still finishes positively with a big smile. …Then to top it all finishing the year with a second Bronze standard at Boxing Day 5…what a fab month!!
It has been great seeing his confidence build since he rejoined the club and to see him take on longer distances ..so much so, setting himself a challenge to take on the full Grizzly 2025. and we look forward to seeing him smash his goals
