Andrew Goodson, A warm out and back course. Through half marathon under 2 hours, marathon in 4 hours, 50km in 4 hours 47 (a new fastest time to 50km), 60km in under 6 hours and completing one and a half marathons in 6:14:58 – 39 minutes quicker than the last time to this distance. To top it all, as well as winning the overall distance I had a runner who was not part of the race on the sea front follow me my last lap before thanking me at the turnaround for setting a great challenging pace for him to keep. I didn’t have the heart to tell him just how far I had run at that point!  Run 39.3 miles in 06:14:58

Colchester 10k

We had 3 members run this event, they should have all received a letter from event organisers.

Lead bike went the wrong way, waiting on EA to confirm what they are doing regrading results.

Leeds Marathon

Carl Harper, Tough run on a hot day, big hill at 19 miles. Had major cramp at 25 miles but Emily walked the last 1.2 miles with me, having run an impressive time in the half marathon herself. 05:21:27

Halstead marathon

Thanks to Dave Cassin for pulling the water station team together and everyone who volunteered.

Aaron Graves, What a day, sometimes when you’re not feeling it, the day turns out very good that’s why you should always just lace up your trainers and just run. I’m not a fan of the heat and it was plenty hot enough for me. Within the first mile I thought I was in with a chance of 3rd place and with never having a country medal it was good inspiration. I had never done Halstead marathon before and the course wasn’t all hilly as I expected. The support out on course was incredible, I loved it and would say it was my most enjoyable marathon I’ve ever done. They never get any easier and started having stomach problem at 18miles so did have to stop in a hedge at 19.5 mile to drop some passengers off, then felt better from then on but with 3mile to go tried to pick up the pace and started to get cramp in my calf which I have never had before while running so just plodded in at the end for my first county medal to only be topped off by getting men’s team silver as well brilliant day had by all TRR 02:52:25

Peter Banks, “Pacing Vicky to a GFA & did so by 12 minutes. Great support from all clubs. Essex Champs Silver for age & Silver for male team” 03:36:13

Vicky Sheldon,

Big Thanks to Pete for running with me as found it really very tough in the heat and undulating course. Amazing support TRR water station was brilliant really gave me a boost. Brilliant running from the rest of the TRR crew. Well deserved Essex medals all round.” Gold Essex county V45 medal in a time of 03:36:15

Rob Hankey, “My first marathon and my first county medal!! Oh so close to a sub-4hr time, but given the heat I’ll take that result! To run with Chris Gardiner was an honour – we had fun, Chris burped a lot, and I learnt so much from him, not only in the days before the race and during the race, but also post-race too! The TRR support and noise on course was legendary and anyone that competed or supported the event were absolute heroes.

That result was for you, Michelle. Don’t ever give up! We will run again.” 04:01:21

Chris Gardiner,

  1. TRR Water station is something else. We could honestly hear you from over a mile away!
  2. Was great to share the race with Rob Hankey. Turns out we both needed each other!
  3. Pleased to get my first county medal, but I was even more pleased to be there when Rob got his first county medal too. A good day at the office! Especially when I really wasn’t looking forward to that heat.” Silver county medal in 04:01:22

Lorraine Mills, County silver medal in 04:29:56
