Len Marten, “Elevation Gain 31m (102ft)  34:53

I visited Whitstable to visit the Profanity Embroidery Group,  a super group of ladies who create ornate, decorative, artistic pieces of embroidery using some of the most filthy language, love ‘em.

I also helped out with both setup and pack away at the parkrun too. Nice bunch!

(it’s pronounced Wit-sta-bull)”

Moonlight Challenge

Andrew Goodson, 43.75 miles (70km) Another Kent based lapped challenge. This time 10km laps near Reculver. 10 hours was the limit but the last lap had to start before 8.5 hours in. As the name suggests this was an evening one, starting at 1pm. It didn’t start well and I nearly quit after 2 laps. But with the help of some friends both there and on the end of a WhatsApp message (thank you Sam), I got out for another lap, and then it was just one lap at a time to marathon, and then ultra distance. It ended up so good that not only did I do an extra lap beyond the Mark Lawes bonus lap after getting to ultra marathon distance, I even said nice things about our chair and defended him in the video diary I made as I went! I timed my 7th lap to perfection coming in just too late to try another lap and so concluded after 8 hours 34 minutes at 70km (43.75 miles) completed. And somehow I finished 3rd, meaning within the last 41 days I have done 3 ultras and finished 2nd, then 1st and then 3rd, for three podium finishes, but am proper proud of how I just kept on moving forward on this one to overcome a huge early mental wobble.

Cold Norton Trail Half Marathon. (The event was in aid of Farliegh Hospice.)

Distances varied between, 13 and 14 miles.

Chris Newenham, 2:03:34. 7th home overall, a glorious day and a beautiful run!

Final xc race of the season, NESS XC Hadleigh.
