Essex Road Running Championships – Important Reminder
We’ve had a few members enter Essex Championship races recently without selecting Essex Champs eligibility or not adding sufficient club details during registration. If you are entering a race that is also part of the Essex Road Running Championships, please make sure you:
- Enter your England Athletics (EA) number
- Select Tiptree Road Runners as your club
- Complete the Essex Champs eligibility section
- Pre-enter the race (entries on the day do not count for the Championships)
You are eligible if you were born in Essex or have been a resident in Essex for at least nine months.
A quick reminder about how the Championships work:
The series covers seven distances: 5K, 5M, 10K, 10M, Half Marathon, 20M and Marathon. Points are awarded to the top 25 in each age category in every race (25 points for 1st down to 1 point for 25th). Your best six results from the seven races count.
There is also an attendance points system for age categories only. Runners earn 1 point for completing one race, 2 for completing two races, and so on up to 7 points for completing all seven. In total, a runner can earn up to 28 attendance points.
All races carry equal weighting, regardless of distance.
For more information please visit the Essex Athletics website.
