Welcome all! Guests tonight, Leanne joining G1 and
Thank you to Phil and his team, and all the members that supported the 1st M5K race, it was a great success!
Late result from last week.
London Marathon.
Chris Pollard, “I could write so much about Sunday and the build it up to it, but I’ll try to keep it short.
By far the most difficult thing I’ve ever done. Running in pain from the start was really tough and by mile 11 my knee had totally collapsed so I just dragged myself round the rest of it, whilst trying to enjoy it which I did. There is absolutely no way I could’ve done it without the crowds and especially my friends and family who were scattered throughout the course. Seeing the guys from TRR, especially Anna, Sally & Sharon was incredible and gave me an extra boost. I would do it again in a heartbeat, but never again with an injury.
The human spirit I witnessed totally restores your faith in humanity, it was on another level. London at it’s absolute finest! Thank you to everyone who has supported me along this journey, it is massively appreciated.
Now it’s about looking after my body and getting me knee sorted.” 05:16:27
Maldon 5k
Aaron Graves, Great support from everyone in what was not the nicest condition for marshalling. Appreciate the encouragement make me keep pushing thought when it gets hard, I probably come across a miserable sod a I don’t say thank you or wave to any of the marshals but I do really appreciate the support and I am complete blowing out of my arse for 99% of the 5k which I hate this distance it equally as hard as a marathon. Fastest time of 00:17:11
Chris Gardiner, “Just the biggest thank you to all of my lovely TRR family out on course Thursday evening. I feel very lucky to have had such amazing support all the way round the course. Unless you’ve run the Maldon 5k series yourself, it’s hard to explain to someone just how amazing it is when you’re running that in your Tiptree colours.
Absolutely buzzing after that! Looking forward to returning the favour at the future races in the series I can help out at. Great organisation tonight too. Probably the best race series in the world! 💖” PB in 00:19:35

Aachner Weiher Koln parkrun
Sally Banyard, A slightly hungover full of German goodies type of Parkrun. I’ll take the Silver standard on that basis! Hilly, but very nice course. 00:26:17
Jodie Wells, First parkrun back after 6 weeks out with injury so I found it tough! But very pleased to be 1st in my age category & to have been able to keep super speedy Sally in my sights for the whole run. And best of all, minimal pain! 00:26:29

Simon Peters, Very proud to wear my new TRR colours for the first time. PB and 2nd silver std 4 days 00:46:37
Julia Bawden, Really appreciated the unexpected cheers from the TRRs along the route – they made up for the pouring rain! 00:58:45
Stacy Hember, Arrived with only a few minutes Togo before the start of the race, due to the traffic. Lucky they delayed the start but then the rain came! So it was a wet and windy race and I certainly went out too quick at the start, which I paid for in the second half of the race. However, it was so lovely to see some fellow TRR’s cheering us all on. 01:03:10

Sharon Hardwicke, 02:20:00
Sue Long, “Loved this trail. Has a nice morning running with Sharon and Katy. Running Conditions were not as I expected, quite muddy and very flooded in places. It felt more like February with all the mud and water about.
Added bonus was the castle cafe at the end where I had a hot chocolate and a bacon sandwich. It was well worth getting wet and muddy for. 🙂” 02:25:42
Boston marathon.
Phil Nicholls, “When I joined TRR nearly 2 years ago I set myself target of getting all 9 silver standards before I turned 50. This was final one and was harder than the other 8 put together! Conditions were brutal. Huge thanks to everyone who sent me messages of support before race, they really helped!” PB and Silver std 03:27:54
