Chris Gardiner, A lovely buzz at parkrun this morning. What I love most is the encouragement between club members, no matter which group they run in. There were members from every group chatting before and after. If you’ve not been to a parkrun, get yourself down to one this Saturday. Best way to start your weekend. 00:25:02

Pos Name Time comment
19 Aaron Graves 01:17:41 Windy conditions and great support out on corse and great to see Mia at the end and help over that last .1 of a mile thank you
160 Robert Hankey 01:35:37 Brutal wind on course and missed my silver standard by 20 seconds, but delighted to get a PB given a busy few weeks and being slightly unprepared for the race.
292 Angela Dellar 01:49:09 V tough in the wind and so grateful for cheers of support – Lawsey, Mia and Ann-Marie 👍 🤗PB, CR and GOLD STD
309 Lorraine Mills 01:50:08 GOLD STD
338 Louisa Quilter 01:52:27 First time doing this event and really pleased to take just over 5 minutes off my previous PB for this distance.
345 Sally Banyard 01:53:28 5th in age.  Haven’t raced in quite a while so was happy to finish feeling comfortable and reasonably happy (apart from the brutal headwinds!!).
491 Sam Cheung 02:08:29 Garmin wasn’t charged so I had no idea what speed I was running, hated every minute of it!
534 Julia Bawden 02:15:09
549 Timothy Huxtable 02:18:07
551 Sharon Hardwicke 02:18:21
567 Emma Goodson 02:20:40 Club pb at the distance for me.
Fastest I have ran that distance since 2014 and given I’m a decade older and had a knee reconstruction couldn’t be happier. Steady but good pace for me until mile 8. 5km of struggles then got it back up again.
Lovely to see so many of the trr team out giving great support to each other as well.
Had some lovely hugs! Thanks to Andy for getting me round! 4 weeks to go to Tokyo marathon. Eek
568 Andrew Goodson 02:20:43 Carried a speaker to be a mobile disco for Emma and some friends. A nice jog around the countryside.
Craig vernon 0.100417 Not one of my better runs.
But it did show me as a Club we were Together and that was in abundance. So please give yourselves a Big 👏 👏 Thanks Craig
595 Stacy Hember 02:30:14 As always a windy race. Had to walk/run as still struggling with my running.
Plus I had a blister forming on my foot, so stopped off for a plaster at mile 5 just as the first runner passed me coming the other way!
Thanks to Emma and Andy to cheer me to the finish and to Julia and Sharon for their support too.

Runner of the month.

For the ladies……………..

As a relatively new addition to G2.5, this lady has fitted in brilliantly, always positive and super-encouraging to all others in the group.

This the first year since joining that she’s battled her fear of running in the dark and trained all through the winter months. Not only is she courageous, but she is also highly determined, consistently working really hard in every training session and inspiring her fellow runners with her focus and continuous encouragement.

She’s also a true team player, helping the RLs with cool down, supporting poorly runners to get back to base, taking subgroups during training and pacing on the infamous G2.5 progressive run session 😊!

In January she completed the Benfleet 15, her longest ever run for TRR and not the easiest of courses to make a 15-mile debut!

As an outstanding role-model of the TRR ethos, our G2.5 female nomination is…

Kath MacDonald! 💫✨🤩

For the men………………

This man has been “determined” to make an impact on his running, and it is showing.

He has regularly attended Tuesday nights and lots of Thursday sessions.

He isn’t the loudest in the group, but he’s become a key part of 2.5. Always supportive of other runners, always positive in his comments to others.

He’s carefully upping his weekly mileage with easy runs, listening to his body and resting or taking it easy when things aren’t feeling right. It’s been clear to see from the run leader team that he has applied the drills and running form tips we’ve been working on into his own running form.

He’s changed his nutrition too in 2024, and he’s seeing the benefits.

At the end of January he knocked off a full minute from his previous best parkrun time before 2024 and achieved his first silver club standard.

ROB STILL.
