Little Baddow trail runs.
Len and Rachel doing the short route, “206m Elevation Gain (Strava)
This was a last minute entry to try and bag a bit of extra height gain for the team. Rachel’s not done a narrative trail before and I’m not a huge fan but it was a lot of fun.
May have got a bit lost in the woods but got rescued by Malcolm and Jim and the a few other “experienced runners” (who were also lost, but less lost than us).”
Longer route,
Morven and Chris Harding, “902 ft elevation Ran with Chris H, who agreed we could have cancelled each other’s elevation out by doing nothing. A few wrong turns resulted in 10 instead of 8m. Gorgeous route through Danbury woods.”
Stacy Hember, In her 3rd event of the weekend! A very hilly but enjoyable run with Alison Peace. Got slightly lost but was told the course would be nearer to 9 miles, however we always got back in track.
Hare and Tortoise Raynedeer Run
Annabel Marriott, completed 13.12 miles in the race, plus an extra half lap and a walk back to the car helped me to clock up 18 miles. I’m not sure my legs will ever forgive me.
St Edmunds Trail Half-Marathon trail around the ground of Ickworth house.
Julia Bawden, 02:36:58 Total Ascent 636 Feet (Sharon as well?)
Week 1 chairman challenge.
Donation of £1000 from T10, for the Wilderness foundation.
Your money, now £2,000 after match funding, could help provide 10 sessions of 1-2-1 therapy for four people, or support a young person on our Turnaround programme for 9 months or fully fund a whole cohort of our Brave Futures or Out There programmes.
As you can see this money will be vital in supporting young people and adults, helping improve mental wellbeing through nature immersion and therapy.
Training this Thursday,
With Jayne from the school, 6.45 for 7 start. All welcome.
Upcoming events.
Essex league xc 17th Dec at Apex corner, Hockley. Details on fb, Do the park run as a warm up, brunch and xc!
Runner of the month November.
This lady is a newer member who has really dived into TRR, training, running, road racing and XC. She started her amazing month coming 1st in her age group at Maldon parkrun. The following weekend she got a PB and club standard at Billericay 10k. Mid November she then knocked over a minute off her parkrun pb, going sub 25 for the first time.
And then… the weekend of all weekends! The triple header! After volunteer pacing at Maldon parkrun takeover, a quick brunch she donned her red vest for her first XC for TRR at Writtle finishing 100th and being one of our team of four fabulous ladies to place TRR 6th out 33 clubs on the day. Only to repeat it all the next day with mud and hills at Gosfield XC – finishing 86th and still smiling.
Loving both Tuesday and Thursday training and consistently determined to push herself whenever she can, huge congratulations to 😊
Rachel Newenham!
Male – 2 x strong NESS xc races, Park run take over pacer, and an epic 50 mile trail race at Wendover woods including 10,000ft of elevation.
